Coolant leaks are a well-known issue across all 5.0L V8 and 3.0L V6 engines. To address these common failure points, we have developed a comprehensive preventative upgrade package that improves long-term reliability, future-proofs the cooling system, and helps prevent the costly knock-on effects associated with coolant loss.

Jaguar Land Rover’s decision to replace the original plastic coolant Y-pipes with metal components highlights the significance of these issues on these high-temperature engines. Building on this approach, we have extended the same philosophy throughout the cooling system by redesigning additional plastic and rubber components using stronger, more durable materials that are far less susceptible to age-related deterioration.

Wherever possible, plastic components have been replaced with precision-engineered metal alternatives, while factory rubber hoses have been upgraded to high-quality silicone. The result is a significantly more robust cooling system with the common weak points eliminated, providing greater reliability and long-term peace of mind.

The rear heater cross over pipe stays as a genuine version in our kit due to the metal aftermarket versions being sold on the market do not seal correctly on the rear quick fit section, under load and engine rocking it causes a coolant leak so metal is not used here specifically for this reason.

The metal coolant Y pipes are genuine JLR components and coupled with the SR silicone hoses either end make a very stable and solid water transition section, this coupled with the new water pump and metal thermostat make a robust front of engine solution that massively minimises failure points for the V8/ V6 series of engines.

All silicone hoses come with high quality Hi-Grip clamps for a tight and constant seal, The kit is finished with a metal expansion bottle bleed screw and thermostat to water pump metal elbow tube in order to further longevity by reducing failure points of commonly brittle components.
