We have been busy over the last 6 months pushing the development process of our X100 systems to be better than even before, with a large amount of research/ development and maths in order to achieve the exact exhaust tone we want as well as creating the best possible flow route for exhaust gasses to travel along.
This process has taken many paths in order to get its final iteration and the final product is something we are immensely proud of, The sound is pleasant and refined without being raspy and high pitched (Which makes a car difficult to live with on long drives etc). Our systems are hand made and hand finished with a choice of tail pipe finishers.
The system starts with our 300 cell sports CATS and here is where quality is key, A cats ability to do its job is based on the quality of the core and this has a direct reflection upon the materials and minerals on the inside. Sub standard cats will not be branded and therefore will have been made cheaply using minimal minerals which are needed to do the job of reducing your emissions for years to come. Our sports cats have been made with Gessi G-Sport cores for a few years now for a few simple reasons, firstly a high quality core enables the sports cat to be more efficient for longer meaning that it will pass MOT tests for far longer than its unbranded rivals.
Secondly is flow rate, typically the lower the cell count the higher the flow rate and this is typically the case with generic sports cats however the higher the BHP of the engine the more hydrocarbons are produced so therefore a higher cell count is needed to keep the emissions lower which can stifle the engine from expelling the gasses, in the case of the Gessi G-Sport cat this is simply not the case due to its S-wound substrate cores which are also furnaced brazed for longevity. With multiple dyno runs on various applications it was found to have no flow change from a generic cheap 200 cell core to the Gessi G-Sport 300 cell core, this has meant that we are able to have a longer lasting cat with higher performance.
Lastly our cats are rated to 500bhp per cat which are capable of withstanding 1000bhp on duel bank application engines, giving you plenty of scope to increase power on your Jaguar without failure or reduction in emissions test pass rates. We have these fitted to a 740BHP X100 and have no issues with MOT tests. Add to this recipe that our cores are EPA compliant, Full high quality stainless steel construction and capable of withstanding 875C from forced induction. Our lambda bosses are also supplied in an extended type to eliminate any potential emissions warning lights you may get on early 4.0ltr versions due being too old and mapping not being available, however we do recommend remapping the car for 4.2ltr engines to make the most of these modifications and turn off any potential EML lights.
The system then moves on to our newly developed X section and over axle pipes, this is something have spent the most time developing as it completely changes the exhaust note. Our centre sections have all silencers and resonators removed for a “straight through” design which enables the true sound of the V8 to sing, By removing the crush pipe element from the system we help unlock its low end rumble and glorious mid range to this section which gives our SR system its characteristic refined exhaust note without the pesky drone noise.
Lastly we have our back box section, we highly recommend large sports back boxes in this section as this enables us to keep the sound refined and deep. The sports back boxes are large enough to remove the drone and cheap sound of high end rasp which would not match the prestige of the brand if a delete section was used. The system can be finished in either a 3′ tail pipe finisher for a sporty look or original OE finishers can be utilised in order to keep the Jaguar look.
Another key take home from our new SR exhaust system is that this arrangement of Cats and silencers keeps the cars DB low enough for track days while enabling full performance on the X100 model, this enables full versatility of the system for all occasions under all conditions. Our system also future proofs the car for the clearance required when fitting the manual conversion due to the wider gearbox bell housing fouling on the original cats, this gives you peace of mind when planning for future upgrades on your X100.
All sections and full systems come with stainless steel fittings and new gaskets for longevity and ease of fitting, wether your fitting at your local specialist or at home our system enables a smooth fitting process. Our systems are also designed to be interchangeable with the standard Jaguar exhaust, utilising the OEM mounting points for all flange’s and slip joints across the full system means that changing sections bit by bit can be achieved if you so wish.
Our systems are small batch made in house in order to keep the quality exceptionally high, this is achieved through the use of purge welding and hand finishing for a completely unrivalled quality in the JAGUAR market.
