While suspension systems may not be the most glamorous modification, they are one of the best ways to enhance your driving experience. By reducing chassis flex, body roll, and tramping effects, a well-tuned suspension system improves tire wear, fuel economy, and—most importantly—safety.
To help you get the most out of your car, we’ve broken down suspension upgrades into stages, progressing in complexity and stiffness. This allows you to choose the best options tailored to your car and driving style. Drawing on our extensive racing experience and expertise in optimizing handling, we’ve reverse-engineered our products from race car setups to deliver exceptional performance on and off the track.
Stage 1 – Fast road/ track alignment (FRSU – Fast Road Set Up) and Performance tyres
Here at Swallows Racing we have developed and tested through our extensive racing history a vast variety of toe/camber/ thrust angle alignment settings to improve the handling characteristics of your performance car, With the ability to slice seconds off your lap times and providing incredible cornering grip as well as driver confidence we can create the perfect geometry set up for your car. FRSU is even better when being combined with upgraded suspension components in the other stages.
Often the most overlooked item on a car is you’re only contact to the road – Tyres. Being responsible for traction, acceleration, braking and your cars ability to go around corners while displacing water affectively are immensely important. Being partnered with Yokohama offers us the ability to provide some of the industry’s best performance tyres – the Advan V107 gives an unparalleled level of dry grip due to its special compound and tread pattern.

Stage 2 – SR Under braces
Designed to follow the front mounting points on the car the front brace stiffens up the whole support structure of the cars front subframe to improve slow speed cornering, tramping and scuttle shake. The rear bar replaces the original very thin and typically rusty strength bar with a much thicker and stronger assembly, Mounting from the rear diff structure to the large outer A frame bushes this brace brings a solid structure to the rear assembly of the vehicle.
When the braces are coupled together the whole car is stiffened up and eliminating the characteristic vague feeling the X100 has in corners which is most noticeable on the convertible models where roof structure is absent causing massive chassis flex. The bars are heavily gusseted and finished in hard coat anodise for maximum durability on the roads all year around, Front brace edges are scalloped to allow for extra clearance on slopes and speed bumps especially when coupled with lowering springs.

Stage 3 – Powerflex bushes with fast road alignment
These bushes are a dramatic difference to the overall handling of the car and when you consider the age of the rubber bushes you are replacing on the car this can be a night and day difference. With less roll, less defamation and a lifetime warranty there is no reason to not upgrade to these bushes. Powerflex bushes are available in both road and race application so there is a setup for you. Once coupled with a fast road alignment the geometry will be predictable and give you amazing confidence in the corners.

Stage 4 – AVO GTZ 2 way adjustable coilovers with corner weighting, ride height setup and fast road alignment
Swallows Racing GTZ kits are designed for fast road use. Each kit features twin tube front and rear dampers with adjustable ride height, adjustable damping rate for bump and rebound and shorter damper bodies for large drop to improve a lower centre of gravity. Once fitted the car then undergoes a full ride height adjustment, corner weighting and fast road alignment set up to ensure the coilovers preform at optimum.

Stage 5 – AVO 3 way adjustable external res coilovers with corner weighting, ride height setup and track alignment
The ultimate set up for those looking to utilise every gain possible on the track and racing, these dampers feature an external reservoir to allow for quick and simple adjustment of high and low speed compression damping with a twin tube design making these the only choice for our fleet of race cars.
With heat management at the core of this design you will always have consistent handling and confidence when you need it the most, the additional oil capacity reduces peak oil temperatures which decreases variations in damping rates due to oil viscosity changes – The reduction in damping rate variations improves handling and is perfect for track performance.
When coupled with a full corner weighing, ride height set up and geo alignment set up you can truly make the most of the previous stages here by coupling all elements together and compliment each other.

Stage 6 – SR Adjustable arms with corner weighting and track alignment
The ultimate stage for handling on your car, we are replacing the original suspension arms with rose joints and full adjustability. Hard mounting the suspension on the car gives you the best possible response to what you are feeling as you enter a corner, this confidence knowing what each tyre is doing enables you to carry consistent speed.
The unlimited adjustability of the arms means that coupled with a full alignment you increase the amount the car can be adjusted in order to give you the best tracking you can for the car, from heel and toe to camber and thrust angle your tyres contact patch will remain in contact with the road for maximum grip and seconds off lap times.
Lighter and stronger than the standard arms, significant weight can be saved to the unsprung weight on the car also increasing lap times in itself.
