Tarox Floating discs are roughly 3.5KG lighter per disc than standard cast discs and improve unsprung weight in the process.

Unsprung weight is commonly attributed to a faster and better handling car due to it being worth roughly X3 in sprung weight.

When above the suspension of the car 3KG of unsprung weight is worth 9KG of sprung weight.

Weight saving across the car can also roughly be calculated as 10KG saving = 10bhp.

With a benefit to both braking force and weight reduction, we see substantial gains all around.

Ultimate Performance..

Floating discs are for cars whose drivers seek higher levels of performance from their brake setup.

All discs in the ‘Bespoke’ range are individually CNC machined from the highest quality materials and billets.

Once the material has been machined to the required size it is heat treated and then cooled to unify the structure of the metal.

This improves strength, durability and keeps the disc more stable at extreme temperatures.

Characteristics such as warping, cracking, fade and knock off are all massively reduced increasing longevity of the disc and pad.

The toughened discs are then grooved and finally finished by hand.

Each disc is manually ground to a tolerance approaching 0.015mm, this creates a perfectly level surface which ensures the disc will run true.

The billet rotor is then mated to a CNC machined alloy bell which has been hard anodized for protection from the elements.

The Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) for these discs is rated at 57kg per square mm. (To put this figure into perspective the standard for racing spec discs is usually 38kg per square mm, the CEE standard UTS is 25kg per square mm).
