Japanese Imports

Japanese Imports

The stigma..

JDM or (Japanese Domestic Market) cars are available through auctions daily with approximately 80,000 cars a week sold. These completely rust free Japanese imports are particularly hand plucked from the land of the rising sun for their placement all their life in the lower sunny prefectures of the country, meaning the climate is warm and very dry dry however not too intense an environment for the car to live, additionally the cars have not seen snow and more importantly there is no grit normally seen on the roads that UK cars see which accelerates the corrosion process ten fold. This means the cars undersides are that of a car 4-5 years old and not 20 years old, enabling you to purchase a level of quality car unseen on the UK roads.

JDM vehicles are also subject to strict government testing to ensure the cars on the roads are kept to an extremely high standard and as the car gets older the testing gets stricter, as a result cars of a certain age are very rare indeed. The Japanese culture hold a strong and meticulous tradition of caring for their Jaguars, ownership in Japan is very expensive, Japan is a very congested place, road tolls that require you to plug your credit card into your car to pay for the pleasure of driving car on the roads forces people to use the public transport which results in very low mileage being covered each year. Jaguars in Japan were also vastly expensive when new and are deemed special from day one and tend to keep them a very long time giving them enthusiastic ownership and meticulous maintenance and care with hand washing this status symbol that sets you apart from the small micro cars on the roads sparing no expense. We firmly believe these are the best value cars on the road today.

WHAT WE DO.

Here at Swallows Jaguar we Source, Buy, Ship and Register cars for UK roads giving you the opportunity to own a completely unique and high quality Jaguar.

Shipping takes 8-10 weeks on average from the day you buy until the day the car arrives – This can vary depending on shipping scheduling to Bristol Avonmouth docks, upon arrival the paperwork is organised and the car brought here for Servicing, MOT, Dial changes (KM to Miles), Registration documentation, Plate application and Valeting ready for sale.

The Japanese Used Cars auctions are not limited to one type car or make, it is a pool of wide variety of cars and almost all makes and models that have been manufactured in Japan. The rapid launches of new and innovative models and massive flow of used Japanese Cars encourages the global buyers to invest more money in the used cars industry. Therefore its not only the single unit buyer who participate n the auctions but bulk purchasers for commercial purposes also take part actively.

Just like physical auctions there are online auctions available for the buyers who cannot visit Japan. Such buyers can participate in live bidding and buy their desired car which will be shipped to their country port upon transferring payment. The bidding process is faster and the buyer should know which car to bid on, once the cars are on display there is very tough competition and short time to win the bid. The buyer is usually notified via email, phone or fax if his/her bid wins.

HOW CARS ARE GRADED.

The Auction Grade is a representation of the cars overall condition not just the bodywork. It is meant to give an indication of how much money will require spending on a car to make it trade sale able, so if you are looking at a car that appears mint but only gets a grade 3 it may have a mechanical issue and will need further inspection.

The auction grades can run from 2 to 6. However 5 to 3 is the standard in most auctions. The auction grade is also dependent on age and mileage for example it is very rare for a fifteen year old car to be grade 4, and in this instance you can consider the car to be exceptional for its year, similarly a one year old car shouldn’t be grade 3.5 unless it has had a hard life.

Grade 6 or S: This should be a brand new car but some auction companies allow ex demos with 2000 km’s on the clocks  into this category either way it should be

plastic on the seats fresh.

Grade 5: As new condition

Grade 4.5: Very lightly used condition

Grade 4: Used condition with only the lightest of blemishes

Grade 3.5: Good condition with more noticeable blemishes

Grade 3: Average condition marks and possible light damage

Grade 2: Poor condition may have accident
