Meguiar’s S-Type R Launched in Fast Car Magazine

Thousands of viewers have followed the progress of the Meguiar’s S-Type R build on the TOM v’s DALE show on YouTube. The plan was for the finished car to be launched at the Players Show at Goodwood in 2020. Due to Covid restrictions this unfortunately didn’t happen and a new plan had to be agreed for the car to be launched. Fast Car magazine had followed the builds of both Tom and Dale’s cars from the outset, so it was felt that this was the place it should be seen first. Swallows have not only carried out a fair proportion of the work but also project managed the build from the start before adding the ‘cherry on the cake’ with the installation of the manual and standalone ECU. The car finally complete after the stop start build because of Covid restrictions, we were able to take it to our friends at The Tuning Shed for a final run and fettle on the dyno. Producing a whopping 500 bhp + & 500lbft of torque this crazy cat not only looks the part but has the power to go with it. Edition #429 of Fast Car with the ‘Wild Cat’ adoring the cover recently hit the news stands and the reaction since has been incredible with the car going ‘viral’ on social media the Swallows phone ringing off the hook with the demand from other publications for photo-shoots of the car which has become an automotive celebrity, so you’ll be seeing plenty of her not only on social media but in the printed press as well. So what’s next for the car? Well Meguiar’s built her to be a largely a show car, but there haven’t any for a year, hopefully that will soon be changing and with light at the end of the tunnel we are all praying that the summer will see the return of car shows across the country. Dale who hasn’t yet be allowed out to see the finished car can hopefully be united with his vision and to be able to take to as many shows as possible.
