We were delighted to attend the JEC racing awards dinner on 11th January, held at the Oxford Belfry in Thame. With everyone dressed to suit in black tie, this is the annual big night for racing and chance to catch up with friends and associates. The evening was compared by JEC member and former TWR, Williams, McLaren and Arrows commercial head Richard West and competition secretary Chris Robinson, with awards being presented by JEC board member and former chairman Peter Purdom, Mike Hawthorn collection and museum owner Nigel Webb, sponsors James Ramm (Watchdogapp.com), Alan Meeker (Toyo Tires) and our own Colin Porter who is also JEC racing coordinator.
Tom collected a well-deserved award for third in a highly competitive Class D from Peter Purdom. We were also surprised and highly delighted to collect the Spirit of Racing award, a unique trophy created from an original XK engine rocker cover. The award being given for the contribution that Swallows Racing made to the JEC Saloon and GT championship during the 2019 season.
