Words and Images Colin Porter The small and beautiful island of Malta is located in the Mediterranean Sea, just sixty miles from the coast Sicily. With a population of just over half a million, it might be hard to believe that what we perceive as a wonderful holiday destination is in fact a hot bed of classic cars. The passion of the local classic car community is unrivalled anywhere I have experience in the world. Given Malta was under British rule from the early 19th century until independence in 1964, it’s…
When we were approached by the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club towards the end of 2021 with an idea for a new track project as you could imagine, we were all ears. We had previously been involved with supporting JEC track days at Castle Combe in the past. But what they were proposing was a more formal arrangement to support a programme of events throughout the 2022. Having heard the plan, we liked the idea, and we subsequently gave passenger ‘Hot Laps’, technical support, and manned trade displays at Mallory Park, Harewood Hillclimb…
. Nearly twelve months ago we sat down with our friends at the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club to map out a plan for the future of JEC track days under the new ‘banner’ of JEC TrackSport. Yesterday’s track day at our ‘home’ circuit Castle Combe, was the season culmination of a year building JEC TrackSport in partnership with the club. Along with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, Swallows have worked to bring many exciting elements to the track days that add huge value. Our fleet of track cars rolled into Castle Combe…
What a week it has been for the Swallows Racing team. Whilst not out racing ourselves we were supporting the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club with a display of race and track focused cars at Silverstone Classic weekend. This entailed preparing the cars and getting them loaded on the race transporter (which formed a backdrop to the display) on Wednesday, before heading off at the crack of dawn on Thursday to help the JEC team set up. On board the truck, Tom’s XJR6 race car, our new project the SCV8 X Type, Andy…
There can’t be many finer motorsport settings than Harwood Hillclimb near Leeds on a sunny day late in June. With some spectacular views across the Wharfe Valley and picnic packed, Swallows Racing were once again pleased to be supporting the JEC TrackSport with their hillclimb event. Over eighty Jaguar Enthusiasts took to the hill, in cars ranging from 1948 to the present day and from the XK120 to the I-Pace. With no less than three C-Type recreations and XK’s strongly represented with model variants from early XK120’s through to late XK150’s.…

Our track day with the JEC on 20th October proved to be a huge draw with over 160 people attending. With our own track cars (Palmersport XKR, Palmer JP1 and XJR6 Race Car) giving the usual passenger rides it was also the perfect opportunity to test the manual conversion of our Palmer XKR…
