Its that time of year again where Swallows Racing hosts its cars and coffee event, opening the doors to 3 regions of the JEC as well as friends and customers to enjoy artisan coffee, good food and great conversion. Sunday the 1st of June at 09.00am until 01.00pm we will host roughly 150 people, giving you the opportunity to see all of our race cars and builds. This insight will also include how we create our cars through design and fabrication to geometry set up and driver coaching. We will have…
External influences occasionally are motivation for new product development. Whilst our primary drivers are improving car performance sometimes at Swallows Racing, we also have the dual influences of solving limited part supply or offering more cost-effective solutions to parts that have become overly expensive for one reason or another. These reasons can include world events that disrupt the normal supply chains such as Covid, the Ukraine war and high prices of global traded commodities. Catalytic converts are a prime example of a car component that is both affected by limited supply…
Defender L663 Performance Packages Ever since the controversial yet striking and capable L663 Defender had launched its following and tuning base has been growing fast. Equally as customisable as the older generation but with all the comforts you would come to expect from a new Land Rover, this car is ready for the SR performance treatment and that is exactly what we have done. Our first goal was to complete a full turbo back exhaust system fabricated in house with exceptional quality using 303 stainless and purge welded for industry leading…
New Powerflex Products Are Incoming For Late Land Rover And Range Rover Models Land Rover‘s Premium SUV offerings have a lot of boxes to tick, combining practicality, high-end luxury, and the ability to transition from on-road to off-road seamlessly. This is especially true for D7u/x platform vehicles, including the latest Discovery and Defender. Naturally, given the weight and usage of these vehicles, they can be hard on their bushes, and an area that suffers most is the large oil-filled bush in the front radius arm, where excessive wheel deflection and ‘snatching’…
Twenty-one years have passed since legendary British Touring Car Champion and race car builder Andy Rouse proudly unveiled his bold plan for the future of touring car racing in the UK. It was 2004, when Rouse took the wraps off the Jaguar X Type SCV8 at the Autosport International show with fellow series planner and business partner Pete Hall. Sadly the ‘Brave New World’ of SCV8 racing never came to fruition. The only legacy of the plan was the car itself which Rouse and Hall had ploughed a small fortune into.…
Back in May 2024 we took a brief look at how upgrading to silicone hoses can future proof your car and cut down on long term maintenance costs. Now more specifically we are going to look at some very common replacements on supercharged models. A big driver for Swallows Racing performance parts is to find alternative solutions for the components that regularly fail. As we have our own garage for maintenance of Jaguars, we are perfectly placed to know what components regularly break on cars, and those that have become discontinued.…
Our annual track day at Castle Combe with our partners the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club is always a highlight of our calendar. With persistent rain leading up to 15th October we anxiously checked the BBC weather site and pleasingly Tuesday looked fair, however for Gary and the team setting up the evening before it was pretty wet. The paddock quickly filled with a range of Jaguars, F-Types, XK8’s, XKR’s, E-Types, S-Types, XJ’s and a selection of race cars from the JEC Racing Saloon & GT Championships. The day was supported by a number…
A combination of a heavy workload and Friday traffic chaos meant a late evening arrival at Thruxton in Hampshire for the most ‘local’ round of the JEC Racing Saloon & GT Championship. With the gearbox finally sorted on Tom’s XJR after syncro issues at Anglesey, the mood in the Swallows camp was quietly optimistic. After all, Thruxton is the UK’s fastest circuit which suits the car, and this was where Tom had the best result of the season last year. QUALIFYING Glorious early Autumn sunshine greeted us for qualifying. Getting out…

Sadly, it’s been far too long since Jaguar last raced at the Le Mans 24 hour and with little prospect of that changing, we decided we needed an excuse to go. With the regulation changes coming in 2020 we felt 2019 was the year to go and wave the Swallows flag, literally. Jaguar may not have raced at the Circuit La Sarthe for many years however there is still a strong bond, love and affinity for Jaguar owners and enthusiasts with the old place. Our elected representatives for the 87th running were…
